Hometrics ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website, calculators and property inspection app.
Information We Collect
Our calculators perform calculations locally in your browser. When you use an account or property inspection features, information you submit is sent to our servers to provide those features.
AI Photo Readings and the Buying Guide Chat
Photos you submit for a photo reading, and messages and photos you send to the buying guide chat, are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, so it can read them. We record the AI's answers and the final results so we can look into mistakes and improve photo readings.
When photo storage is turned on, we keep the photo you submitted in private Cloudflare R2 storage for up to 30 days. During that time, authorised Hometrics staff can view it next to the AI's answers to check how the reading went. After 30 days our staff can no longer open it.
With your permission, we may keep some photos longer to help improve photo readings. A photo kept this way can be used as an example when the AI reads other customers' photos, but it isn't shown to them. This is off unless you turn it on under "Help improve photo readings" in your profile. If you turn this on, photos you've already taken may be used too. If you turn it off, we delete the copies we kept for this.
Deleting Your Account
When you delete your account, we delete your properties, saved problems, share links, chat conversations and the photos we stored for you, including any you allowed us to keep to improve photo readings, along with our records of the AI's answers about them.
We may collect the following types of information:
- Browser information and device type (for analytics purposes)
- IP address (for security and analytics)
- Pages visited and time spent on pages (via analytics tools)
How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Improve our website and calculator functionality
- Analyze website usage and trends
- Ensure website security
Cookies and Tracking
We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience and analyze website traffic. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
When you tap a sponsored link, we count the tap. We don't record who you are.

Data Security
We restrict access to account and inspection records. Diagnostic photos use private storage and temporary viewing links issued only after checking administrator access.
